Halo arcs are passing through each of sundogs.

SunDog (from steam … and hélios “sun” — a mock sun) — one of kinds halo, looks as a light iridescent stain at sun level. Arises owing to sunlight refraction in focused the ice, soaring in atmosphere.

In “Song of Igor’s Campaign” it is mentioned that before approach and Igor’s capture «four sun have begun to shine over Russian earth». Soldiers have apprehended it as a sign on an approaching big trouble.

The phenomenon also is described in one of songs (Die Nebensonnen) Frantsa Schubert’s cycle «the Winter way».
